Building Confidence and Skills
All three of our Under 5’s gymnastics programs focus on movement and are designed to develop the whole child—physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally. Positive movement experiences shape a child’s lifelong attitude toward physical activity. We offer a safe, structured environment filled with stimulating and challenging activities to enhance learning while keeping it fun!

Kindy Gym is a 45-minute parent-assisted class focused entirely on building the foundational physical skills necessary for future learning and development.
Our Focus: Movement, Not Music/Songs
At ModBod, we believe in purposeful, structured play. This program concentrates exclusively on enhancing your child’s gross motor skills, spatial awareness, confidence, strength, and coordination through dynamic gymnastics-based activities-we leave the songs and dances for traditional nursery school.
The ModBod Experience
- Parent Participation is Key: This is a truly unique component where the parent (or adult caregiver) actively participates with their child, guiding them through the activities and strengthening your bond. One parent is required to assist their child in this class.
- Four Rotating Zones: To ensure constant engagement and development, the class utilizes four different zones within the gym, changing every 10 minutes. While the lesson structure remains consistent each week, the physical setups are always different, continuously challenging your child’s growth.
- Progressive Circuits: Children explore circuits specifically designed to promote movement, balance, and problem-solving, setting a solid foundation for more independent gymnastics programs like Mini-Active Bods (3-4 years).
Kindy Gym Kids: Typical Session Structure
- Settle & Warm-Up (5 mins): This brief group session brings children together to socialise and learn foundational instructions. Through themed movements, gymnastics shapes, and props like parachutes and beanbags, children gently ease into the class while developing essential group listening skills.
- Circuit 1: Balance & Coordination (9 mins): Located in the Beam Area, this rotation focuses on building core stability and spatial awareness through guided balancing, climbing, and rolling.
- Circuit 2: Rig Area (9 mins): Using the rings, bars, and parallel bars, children develop upper-body strength and grip while exploring hanging, swinging, and various support variations on the parallel bars.
- Circuit 3: Trampoline & Foam Pit (9 mins): A focus on safe jumping techniques and soft landings within a fun, sensory environment. This rotation uses structured play to help build confidence and encourage safe physical exploration.
- Circuit 4: Themed Development (9 mins): Set in the Mezzanine Area, this circuit integrates gross and fine motor skills through specially themed activities that challenge both body and mind.
- Finish: We conclude each session by celebrating every child’s progress with “Stamp Time” before they head home.
Benefits of Parent Involvement
- Enhanced Safety: Direct supervision ensures a secure environment as children explore new physical challenges.
- Accelerated Development: Children progress faster when they feel secure, supported by a familiar face in a friendly setting.
- Extended Learning: Parents gain the tools and knowledge to encourage continued physical activity and skill-building at home.
- Active Support: Provides a unique opportunity for parents to play a hands-on role in their child’s physical and social milestones.

About
The Mini-Active Bods is a high-energy 45-minute structured class designed to bridge the gap between parent-assisted play and independent learning.
Focus on Independence and Skills
This program is non-parent assisted, allowing your child to take the crucial next step in their development. It focuses on accelerating both social and physical milestones:
- Social Skills: Developing independence, focus, listening skills, and the ability to work cooperatively within a group setting.
- Physical Skills: Improving gross motor skills, strength, balance, and coordination through movements like jumping, climbing, rolling, swinging, and safe inversion.
The ModBod Experience
- Progressive Circuits: The class keeps children moving and engaged through fun, structured, gymnastics-based circuits that change weekly.
- Typical Structure: A quick 3-5 minute warm-up followed by 10-minute rotations around our four key zones in the gym.
Important Note on Assistance
To maximise social and physical skill development, children are expected to participate independently once settled.
- Settling In: We understand the first class can be daunting. Parents are encouraged to help settle their child initially and then transition promptly to the dedicated viewing area to allow the coach to take control.
- Recommendation: If your child requires continuous parental assistance to participate, we highly recommend enrolling in our Kindy Gym program first, which is specifically designed for parent involvement.

In 2024, all kids enrolled in a term-based program will need to pay an annual Insurance, Rego and Membership fee of $55-to-$80/child based on the enrolled program. This will cover the child for personal injury insurance during the calendar year, and anyone joining a class in term 4 will have a slightly reduced fee.
Modbod Kids affiliated with Gymnastics NSW in Mid-2021, allowing the business to become a registered gymnastics club. This helps us with ticking some very important boxes.
Which include:
1. Adequate Gymnastics Public Liability Insurance
2. Accredited gymnastics coaches (and ensuring all staff are up to date with their first aid, Working With Children Check, Child Protection and other educational courses provided by Gymnastic Australia)
3. Personal injury insurance for all kids who take part in any of our programs (subject to paying a one-off annual insurance fee).
Why must every child be insured?
Under our Gymnastics Public Liability Insurance, all kids are insured for up to 30 days (which means holiday programs, birthday parties and trials are all covered). However, when a child goes beyond the 30 days (such as in the case of a term program), they must have personal injury insurance in place (which is an extra one-off cost that we need to charge for and then transfer across to Gymnastics NSW).
What is Personal Injury Insurance?
It’s designed to offer some peace of mind to club members (i.e. the kids) by having protection for certain costs related to injury sustained whilst involved in any gym activities. Coverage is split into 3 components:
Capital Benefits – claimable in the event of death or permanent disability
Non-Medicare Medical – provides reimbursement for items that are not claimable in any way through Medicare. However, due to government legislation, the Medicare Gap cannot be claimed.
The following expenses are generally covered:
physio and chiro treatment, dental treatment, ambulance transport, private hospital treatment
The following are not covered:
Doctor’s fees, X-rays, public hospital costs, surgeon‘s fees (which are all generally covered by Medicare)
